Job Summary:The DESS strategizes the division’s role and responsibilities within regional emergency and safety management plans and maintains key professional relationships with regional emergency and safety management personnel. It represents the division in all risk/safety management related matters including all emergency management partners in all sectors – government, nonprofit, and for profit. In addition, the DESS will supervise any emergency services staff, volunteers, and is responsible for all preparedness, response, and recovery activities that affect the division as well as its services and programs. The DESS will administer and oversee TSA safety programs and policies to comply with Federal and State regulations. The position also develops, updates, and conducts safety and emergency management training relevant to the Hawaiian and Pacific Islands Division.
